Get swept away in a floral fairytale world. A visit to the Valley of Flowers is greeted with a plethora of colorful blossoms and a charming network of streams lacing dewy meadows. The snow-covered mountains serve as a picturesque backdrop. Huddled in the celestial-like West Himalaya of Uttarakhand, the trek to Valley of Flowers reveals approximately 300 types of endemic alpine flowers and a diverse range of flora.
The national park, which covers 87.5 square kilometers, was established in 1982. When the snow melts, the entire valley, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, comes alive. There are also endangered species here, such as the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, brown bear, and blue sheep. The Valley of Flowers, located 3600 meters above sea level, is an exciting trekking destination.
Meet at Haridwar Railway Station at 7 a.m. and transfer to Govindghat by vehicle. The drive is interesting as it follows the Ganga and Alaknanda rivers. Cross the holy towns of Rishikesh, Dev Prayag, and Rudra Prayag. Reach your destination and unwind in a lovely lodge. The night will be spent in the lodge.
Today, get up early for a trek to Ghangaria.
Enjoy the trail through the forest and villages, as well as the views of waterfalls and lush landscapes. Ghangaria can be reached after traveling 11 kilometers in 4-5 hours. You can also hire a mule or use a helicopter to get to Ghangaria.
This pleasant day, look forward to a short climb to the valley, a moderate gradient, and beautiful scenery. It will take approximately 2 hours to reach the famous Valley of Flowers. Admire vast meadows dotted with vibrant alpine flowers, numerous streams, and majestic mountains.
Right at the entrance stands the snowy Ratban Parvat Peak, with Nar Parvat on the left and the dense Birch Forest on the right. Over the course of 3-4 hours, discover the region's many charms. Return to the camp at Ghangria.
Over the course of 3-4 hours, ascend to Hemkund Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine built next to the mesmerising lake (surrounded by wild flowers, the most popular of which is Brahmkamal). Expect steep climbs in some places. Once there, take in the scenery while sipping on the piping hot tea served at the Gurudwara (shrine). Visit the Laxman Mandir, which is next to the Gurudwara. By noon, return to Ghangria.
Overnight will be spent in the campsite.
On this day, you will return to Govindghat. This place of worship, situated on the banks of the holy Alaknanda with Neelkanth Peak in the background, is a captivating destination, particularly for those interested in spirituality. Here, there are sulfur water pools and fresh air.
Later in the evening, you travel to the Govindghat lodge. Take a shower and eat a delicious meal. The night will be spent in the lodge.
Eat breakfast and drive down to Haridwar.
